“Moody’s Battery”

Battery commanding officer – Major Vaughn Weston

The unit is named after an actual Civil War battery and was formed to educate the public through authentic re-enactment, portrayal, and representative demonstrations of daily military life, using period weapons, and the battlefield tactics of a confederate artillery unit. We strive to present to the public an authentic as possible look at the military and civilian lifestyle during the years of The American Civil War. The battery is located in Ontario, NY and was started in 1986 by Vaughn Weston. The Battery has four cannons, two six pounders, a mountain howitzer and one field howitzer.
