Dan has trained and competed with firearms since the early 1980’s; he has been employed since 1987 with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff. He  also works in the armed security and personal protection field and has done so since the early 1990’s. 

He currently holds the rating of Master in Defensive Shooting Management and IDPA’s Stock Service Pistol division. He also holds an Expert rating In IDPA’s Custom Defense Pistol division. Dan is a certified range officer in both DSM and IDPA.  

He is an NRA certified instructor in:  
- Home Firearm Safety
- Basic Pistol
- Home Personal Protection

Dan is certified by the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services Municipal Training Council as both a General Topics and Firearms Instructor. He has attended the Monroe Community College Public Safety Training Center where he received training as a Firearms instructor and also attended Advanced Firearms Instructor training.

Dan is a certified Glock Armorer and has attended the Remington Law Enforcement Armorers course.

He is an NRA Member, a life member of the North American Hunting Club, and a member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI)
