will host Sigarms Academy defensive pistol classes
DSM is working with Sigarms to hold classes
for defensive pistol and rifle training at the DSM range, and at GCL.
Classes offered will be.
1911 Operator Course
(1 Day, $195.00)
If you own a 1911 pistol and would like to fine tune your handling and
operational techniques, this is the course for you. Already you have an
interest in perhaps the worlds most popular and proven handgun, the 1911.
Why not elevate yourself and receive hands on professional 1911 training
from the worlds leader in firearms training, the SIGARMS Academy. The
SIGARMS Academy is ready to present this course at a firing range near
you. The 1911 course will walk you through step by step how to
safely and effectively disassemble, reassemble, maintain, handle, and
shoot your 1911 series pistol. Upon successful completion of the 1911
operator’s course you will have the confidence and skills backed with
world class professional training how to maintain and operate your 1911.
Alternative
Shooting Positions (1 Day, $195.00)
This course will give defensive and competitive shooters the skills and
confidence required to make those tricky shots that won’t work or make
sense while standing. The three main alternative pistol shooting
positions coved and performed in the course will be the various prone
positions, various kneeling positions and various seated positions. Other
positions will also be discussed and covered. Upon completion of the
course shooters will be able to safely and effectively fire from multiple
alternative shooting positions other than just standing.
Close Quarter Pistol
Tactics (1 Day, $195.00)
Most deadly force encounters with firearms occur within 7 feet and last
only 3-5 seconds with an average of 3 shots fired. Do your defensive
firearms training practices or skills meet the requirements of these
likely encounters? Only you know the answer to that question. The world
class SIGARMS Academy is offering this course to improve your skills and
increase you survivability in such an encounter. We provide this training
at suitable locations throughout the world. The focus of the course
will be how to safely and effectively employ a firearm in tight quarters
within a split second of time. During the seminar you will gain the
skills and confidence to mitigate threats where they will most likely come
from; up close. Students of the Close Quarter Pistol Seminar will receive
intensive training with a SIGARMS Academy world class firearms instructor
and will have “a plan of action” in place if and when faced with a deadly
threat.
Low Light Pistol
Operators Course (1 Day, $195.00)
Consider the facts; At least fifty percent of the time you are in a low
light environment. About sixty percent of deadly force encounters in the
U.S. occur in low light environments. Are you ready for short time
duration, close proximity, low light encounter? You will be, after
attending this course. The objective of this course is to develop the
skills and confidence required to prevail with the pistol in low light
conditions. Upon completion of the low light course you will have the
tools and knowledge to perform low light shooting techniques. Shooters
will learn how to effectively and safely move with a flashlight, corner
with a flashlight and fire
with one. This course will cover ambient light and equipment
considerations as well to make sure you have the right tool for the
anticipated low light environment
Shooting Outside of
your Comfort Zone (1 Day, $195.00)
For a variety of reasons shooters often don’t challenge themselves in ways
that allow them to shoot to their full potential. Thru a combination of
discussion and range exercises, we will explore various techniques that
will allow the shooter to refine their shooting skills and begin to
approach skill levels that, while perhaps uncomfortable at first, will
push them beyond their current shooting level.
Shooting on the Move
(1 Day, $195.00)
Moving and Shooting is one of those mysterious feats that is counter
intuitive to most shooters. Maintaining a stable muzzle on the intended
target while aggressing, escaping or moving to cover is absolutely
essential to assure success. In today’s ever fluid environment of Combat
or Competition this is a must take class! This course is designed to
develop the shooter from static mode to dynamic mode incorporating
realistic moving and shooting drills. Shooters will develop the skills to
shoot on the move as well as turn and shoot from various distances at
sometimes multiple targets. Upon completion of the course shooters will
have the confidence matched with the skills to effectively and literally
shoot on the move. This course is ideal for the defensive or competitive
shooter who wants a challenge and wishes to refine their skills.
Instructors for the courses will be
provided by Sigarms academy. A minimum of 12 students is needed to
